Turtle turned 2 a few weeks ago and The Hubs and I were on the hunt for the perfect birthday gift. Turtle isn’t really “into” anything yet. He loves music, he loves playing outside, he loves water and he loves DAVIDsTEA.

The Hubs and I decided that a water table would be the perfect birthday gift. Something that would keep him entertained in our back yard while I garden and keep him cool on a hot day.

We looked at a few different water tables at the store and weren’t really sold on any of them. They seemed like they would have a limited life and then we would be selling it on Craigslist.

“Should we DIY it?” The Hubs and I said to each other? We love handmade and there is nothing like a handmade gift.

The Hubs set to the internet for inspiration and found these great water table instructions on Instructables. A quick trip to the hardware store, then 30 minutes of assembly and we had this fun water table of our own.

Turtle has so much fun with his new water table. He loves that he can play with the different pipes, put his fingers over the holes and it makes the water react in different ways. It’s a great way to keep a 2 year old water baby entertained for awhile.  (Oh and yes… he also got a DAVIDsTEA Kid’s Iced Tea Mug for his birthday.)

His first plan is to build a wooden stand for it to sit on so that Turtle can still have as much fun with it when he gets a bit older.
