Back To Basics- How To Make Homemade Hemp Milk Recipe with 3 Variations

Take clean eating to a whole new level by making your own hemp milk! This dairy free homemade hemp milk recipe takes 60 seconds to make! She also gives 3 variations for flavored nut milk! Why buy it at the store? Make it at home!

Hi Friends! I’m back today with another instalment in our Back To Basics series. I’m so excited about today’s recipe, today we’re adding another type of nut milk to our dairy free milk recipe box with a Hemp Milk Recipe! We’ve had such great feedback about our Almond Milk Recipe and our Coconut Milk Recipe so it seemed time that we gave you the secret to making the EASIEST dairy free milk of all– Hemp Heart Milk!

Have you ever tried hemp hearts? If you had asked me 5 years ago what hemp hearts are, I probably would have stared at you blankly. Now they are a staple that I always have in my pantry. I can’t get enough of the sweet, nutty flavor and all of the healthy benefits that this little gem adds to my diet! I love sprinkling hemp hearts on my salad, adding it to granola, spooning it onto yogurt and blending it into smoothies. It also makes a delicious nut/seed milk on it’s own.

The first time I ever heard of hemp hearts was when I met Manitoba Harvest at a wellness show a few years back. Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts are by far our favorite of any of the hemp hearts we have tried and have become the only hemp hearts we buy (they sell them at our Costco!) Not only is Manitoba Harvest a Canadian company (which we love) but they are also the world’s largest hemp food company in the world. They know just about everything there is to know about hemp food, from seed to table, and have been pioneers in making hemp food become mainstream.

Hemp hearts are a super food that’s packed full of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids (aka great for brain and heart health, healthy skin, hair and bones as well as for regulating your metabolism and cholesterol.) Hemp hearts are also a great source of plant based high quality protein with over 25% of their calories being protein calories.

Bottom line… They’ll make you smart, they’ll make you beautiful, they’ll keep your heart healthy and they’re yummy in your tummy! What more do you need to know? 😉

When many people hear the word hemp, they immediately think of marijuana and wonder if they are going to “get high” if they consume hemp hearts. The answer is no. Hemp seeds contain .001% levels of THC and don’t cause any psychoactive side effects nor would they cause you to have a false positive on a drug test.

Hemp milk takes absolutely no pre-planning (no soaking required), takes approximately 60 seconds to make and you can play with different flavor variations depending on what you’re going to be having it with.

Among many options, Karen loves having her hemp milk on granola and I love using it in chia pudding and smoothies!
