When Crystal (Allen) asked me to create some printables for Hello Creative Family, I was super excited. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been doodling letters (band names on the paper cover of textbooks, anyone?) and had recently gotten back into doing more hand-lettering, this time with the help of the computer. Being a graphic designer by trade, I spend a lot of time with typography. Getting a chance to play and experiment with different styles and techniques is one of my favorite parts of the design process. When it comes to hand-drawn type, my creative process involves a lot of sketching in my notebook to get the general layout and forms right, then I take a picture of it with my phone and upload it to my computer. I then bring it into Adobe Illustrator to trace and play with.
Our plan with these printables is to bring some fun, simple and easily accessible inspiration for you to print or share with others who might need need a dose of creative motivation in their lives. Enjoy!
