Bean has been anxiously counting down the days until Easter for months now. It’s one of her favorite holidays and it’s one of mine too. When I was a kid my mom would go all out for Easter. We had boxes and boxes of Easter decorations in our basement. I remember coming home from school and our house had been turned into an Easter wonderland. It wasn’t even that my mom was an Easter fanatic, she just loved to decorate.

I find it’s hard to go as “all out” as my mom did while I’m working full time and writing part time, but I do like to create little handmade touches for Easter. Last year, Bean and I decorated our whole front window in an Easter garden theme using handmade contact paper window clings

This year, Bean and I decided to make an army of chick and bunny Kinder Surprise wraps to go on all of our window sills. Bean made me extra proud when she told me that she went to school and made a few of these for friends in her kindergarten class during art time!

We love making kids Easter crafts and I hope you do too! This is a fun and easy craft to do with your kiddos to get them in the Easter spirit.

Kinder Surprise Egg Wraps:

What you need:

  • Construction paper in white and yellow
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue (I used my hot glue gun so I wouldn’t have to worry about dry time, but you can use Elmer’s glue too.)

Kinder Easter Cutout

Directions:

  • Cut out a strip of paper approximately 7 inches in length by 2 inches high. Cut a rounded “bump” in the center for the bunny or chick’s head.
  • If you are making a bunny cut out some 2 ear shaped pieces. Color the center of the ear in using markers and then glue to the back of the bunny’s head.
  • Draw a face on your bunny and chicks using a marker.
  • Wrap the paper around a Kinder Surprise egg to figure out how tight to wrap your paper. You should have a slight overlap with your paper ends, approximately 1/2 inch.  Put a line of glue where the wrap should close and then pinch shut.
  • Leave to dry. If using Elmer’s glue or a glue that doesn’t dry as fast you may want to paper clip shut until the glue dries.
  • Once your wraps are dried, stick a Kinder Surprise inside the wrap and put out on Easter morning or decorate your window sills.

I feel so lucky to be a Kinder Mom! My kids are going to have an eggs-tra special Easter this year because Kinder sent them a bunch of Kinder treats for Easter.

Kinder isn’t just showing my kids some extra joy on Easter, they are also spreading the joy to sick kids. Once again, Kinder has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network and will be providing 12 baskets to  CMN hospitals.  As well, Kinder will be donating another $25,000 to help support this non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals across North America.

Happy Easter everyone! What is your favorite craft project to do with your kids?
