Hey crafty friends! How are you all holding up during this crazy time? I hope that you and your family are happy, healthy and safe. As scary as what is going on in the world right now is, I’ve been taking this time to enjoy quality time with my family and to let people in our “village” (both near and far) know that we are thinking about them.
It will come as no surprise that we’ve been doing quite a few crafts around here. We’ve been making a point of being creative and using what we have on hand. My youngest has found my stash of polymer clay and has been making statues of his favorite super heroes. My oldest has been spending a lot of time drawing and writing in her journal. Together we have been digging through my stash of paper and vinyl and creating cards using my Cricut that we leave taped to our neighbors’ doors letting them know that people are thinking about them and that they aren’t alone.
I’ll be sharing the cut file and instructions for this easy craft in the next week or so (I’m working on a Cricut card blog hop with some of my very talented blogger friends).
Since Cricut crafting is pretty much my favorite thing ever, this time social isolating has my Cricut working overtime! I’ve been cutting so many fun projects with it. Did you know that you can apply iron-on to stuffed animals? Sydney from Tastefully Frugal shows you how in Birth Announcement Stuffed Animal tutorial. I think this idea would also be super cute for making cuddle critters! Put a quote on the stuffed animal or something as simple as “Hug Me” to give your kids something to snuggle with when their anxiety is feeling high.

We bake a lot as a family at my house. Baking following a recipe is a great way to get kids learning without realizing that’s what they are doing! Following a recipe can help kids with concepts that have to do with math, reading and science! Add an art lesson to your baking time by making some adorable cupcake toppers like these ones from Julia at The Quiet Grove that use Cricut’s Print and Cut function.
