Barbie Pearl Princess VIP Screening and a Barbie Doll Giveaway

I have fond memories of playing Barbies with Sisser when we were little girls. For some reason my parents wouldn’t let us have a Ken doll so we had to improvise who Barbie’s love interest would be. Sisser had a He-Man action figure and I had a Mork doll from the late 70’s/early 80’s TV show Mork and Mindy. Lucky Barbie got to have Prince Adam and Robin Williams fight over her.

Another highlight of our Barbie Doll days was that my mom had saved some of her Barbie dolls for us from when she was a little girl. We loved dressing our new dolls in the fun 50’s and 60’s Barbie clothing that my mom had kept and dressing her older dolls in more modern fashions.

Per family tradition, my sister and I saved some of our Barbie dolls for when we had children of our own. The Barbie dolls are at Nana’s house and were what launched Bean’s own excitement about Barbie. Every time we go to visit Nana, the very first thing Bean does is haul the Barbie doll box out of the guest room closet. She plays with them for hours, creating imagined Barbie doll worlds and social situations.

On Christmas morning, this past Christmas, Bella awoke on Christmas morning to find a Barbie Dreamhouse beneath our Christmas Tree. We spent a few hours assembling the Dreamhouse as a family and every since Bean has been creating imaginary Barbie doll worlds every single day.

Little girls around the world have been playing with Barbie dolls for over 50 years. It’s fun to watch love of Barbie be passed from my mom, to my sister and I and now to 5 year old Bean.
