My husband drilled holes in the bottoms of any cups without drainage. See YouTube. I love when the babies show up.

I would add a few pebbles or gravel at the bottom before the soil if you do want them to last as that helps with drainage, the only things these little sweeties don’t like is being too wet.
They look super cute in the teacup, it’s a lovely idea for when you just want a little something for someone.
