Sephora is my weakness. I have a few weaknesses– fabric, tea, books… but Sephora is a big one. I’m a Sephora VIB (I won’t tell you at which level) which means I get emails with coupon codes for deluxe samples if I order $25 or more. Those deluxe samples are my kryptonite! Once I try the sample I can’t imagine my life without that product. I’ve definitely discovered MANY new products from my Sephora samples.

One of my favorite recent Sephora discoveries has been the Bite Agave Lip Mask. My lips tend to get a bit dry and flaky during the winter months and this agave lip mask is like heaven in a tube. It smells and tastes delicious, can be worn all day long as a lip gloss with a hint of color (I love it in the color Smashed) and it’s also super thick and moisturizing.

After I had been using my sample for a few days I went to the Sephora website to check out the product and people’s reviews of it. I got sucked down the Sephora rabbit hole and watched a video showing the entire line of Bite Agave Lip Treatment products. In the video they show how you should prep your lips before putting on the lip mask with their agave sugar scrub.

My Sephora loving heart said “Agave sugar scrub?!?!? Yes!!! Gimme, gimme, now!!!” While my DIY loving, recovering financially from the holidays and hoping to take a trip over spring break head said “Girl, you could totally make something like that!”

My DIY Vanilla Agave Sugar Lip Scrub doesn’t have all of the fancy ingredients that the Bite version has, I’m not telling anyone that they shouldn’t live out their Sephora fantasies and buy the full line of Bite lip products, but ladies– if you are on a budget and can only get one, buy the agave lip mask and DIY the scrub because this DIY sugar lip scrub is pretty freaking awesome! Bonus points– it takes less than 5 minutes to make! Whip one up for you and one up for your bestie!

Ingredients:

-6 tablespoons sugar

-1 tablespoon organic blue agave syrup (like this)

-5 tablespoons melted organic coconut oil (like this)

-Vitamin E oil (I used the oil from 3 vitamin e capsules by poking a hole in the capsule and squirting it into the mixture, however if you have a bottle of vitamin e oil, like this, you can just add a couple of drops.)

-5 drops of vanilla essential oil (a drop or two of vanilla extract will also do in a pinch)
