It’s a common known fact… I’m a DAVIDsTEA addict. I drink tea from DAVIDsTEA every single day. I have never, in my entire life, started the day with a cup of coffee… EVER. I wake up each morning, get started with my day, get the kids off to school and daycare, make myself a cup of tea and then get started for the day. You see, for me tea isn’t a caffeine. I drink a mixture of rooibos, herbal and black teas and love them all for the flavors, not the “wake me up”. If I had to describe it, I’d say that tea is what makes me feel like me. A good cup of tea makes me feel creative, inspired, warm to my core. I have a hard time writing without a cup of tea beside me. Even as I write this post this is what sits on my side table:
My pot of tea, my favorite mug, my aqua blue Moleskine and a pen. When I stop to ponder a sentence, my cup of tea is what I reach for as I raise my eyes towards the ceiling and search for my words. Tea not only is my beverage of choice it’s also part of what makes me, me. I think the same is true for a lot of tea drinkers.
I was recently in Toronto for a blogging conference and was lost in the blogging world of “I NEED MY COFFEE!” Foolishly I had left my tea and travel mug at home and while the hot beverages at the hotel were lovely I’m sure, they just didn’t compare to my DAVIDsTEA.
I left Toronto, early on a Sunday morning. I was anxious to get home to my family, my home and as silly as it sounds… my tea. As I walked to my gate at Pearson Airport a flash of aqua blue (my favorite color BTW) caught my eye. A DAVIDsTEA location, right there at Pearson Airport. “I’ll meet you at the gate,” I told my travel companion “I need some tea.” I walked into the store, stood in line, breathed and took it all in. The scent of tea, the quiet conversation of other tea lovers, the flip of paper as customers scanned through the multitude of DT offerings, the beautiful tea accessories lining the wall… I felt instantly at home.
I purchased my cup of tea for the plane, longingly considered the boxed DAVIDsTEA Fall Collection and then sadly decided against it as I tried to juggle my overflowing carry-on, my cup of tea, my wallet and my laptop bag.
6 hours later I was home. “A package arrived for you while you were away,” The Hubs told me. I cut open the box and smiled. My welcome home package, a box of the DAVIDsTEA Fall Collection straight from my friends at DAVIDsTEA.
Inside the box:
- 20 Tea Filters
- Snickerdoodle– dessert in a cup… seriously. SO GOOD.
- Organic Yes We Cran– fruity and delicious.
- Sweet Apple Cider– just what the name says. Sweet, delicious comfort in a cup.
- Maple Sugar– the perfect black tea for fall.
- And the flavor that every DAVIDsTEA fan begs for every fall- Pumpkin Chai.
They also sent along a David’s Perfect Spoon which I love and helps me make the perfect cup of tea every time. That spoon is like magic.
Fall had definitely hit once I arrived back in Vancouver so the DAVIDsTEA Fall Collection was perfect timing. Each morning (ok let’s be honest… morning, afternoon and evening) I’ve been drinking a mug full of comfort.

They will pick one winner each week until October 31st. More details on the DAVIDsTEA SelfTea contest can be found here.
Pumpkin Chai has to be the most talked about tea from DAVIDsTEA. Each year, as soon as the tea disappears off the shelf at the end of fall, tea drinkers around the world start asking if Pumpkin Chai will be coming back the following year. My good friends at DAVIDsTEA are giving one of my lucky readers a Pumpkin Chai Candle so that they too can experience pumpkin chai goodness all year long.

I would love to try the Maple Sugar tea. My sister is a DT addict too! And she’s getting my dad hooked. I only go when I’m with my sister but I do enjoy the teas I have from there.
