“Going to the chapel and she’s going to get married. Bells will ring, sun with shine, wooooh, oooooh, ooooooh. Going to the chapel of love!” My sister is getting married in June and I am SO EXCITED!!! Every time I think about it I start singing Going To The Chapel Of Love by The Dixie Cups, but change the words to “she’s” going to get married instead of “we’re” going to get married.
I had so much fun planning my wedding. I loved all of the DIY projects. I had so much fun planning my own big day that I got certified as a wedding planner and had a wedding coordinator business for awhile. When my sister, Kara announced that her boyfriend, Jimmy, had proposed she immediately enlisted me to help her with her wedding planning. Her one caveat was “No Glue Guns.” So far I’ve stuck to that promise.
Kara and Jimmy have been fabulous about taking my advice and suggestions on wedding projects, and I *think* I’ve been pretty good about listening to what they want for their wedding instead of planning my second dream wedding.
Kara and Jimmy are getting married in their 30’s and The Hubs and I got married in our 20’s. There is so much about my wedding that I would do differently if I was getting married older and wiser. It’s been really interesting watching the decisions that my sister is making for her wedding day and thinking how smart she is for making those choices.
A few weeks ago, my mom and Kara came to the house to work on some wedding planning. The wedding is just over 6 months away, so it seemed like the perfect time to get Save The Dates done. Kara and Jimmy had beautiful engagement photos done, so we decided to order Save the Date Magnets from Minted.
Minted has a ton of great Save the Date Magnet formats to chose from. We spent a couple about an hour uploading different photos to the Minted website and playing around with Save The Date Layouts.
We were amazed by how much you could customize the invitations. Different layouts, different fonts, different colors. The possibilities were endless. Their were a lot of great contenders, but we finally settled on a design and placed our order.
We placed our order on Saturday, on Sunday we received a proof by email and replied asking for a few small changes. On Monday we received a second proof and approved it. I was shocked when my doorbell rang on Friday and there was the Save The Dates from Minted!
The magnets came super quick (less than a week shipping from the US to Canada!!!), were beautifully packaged, and the quality is superb.
Kara and Jimmy gave out some of the Save the Dates at Jimmy’s birthday party last weekend. There were many “Ooohs” and “Ahhhs” over the magnets. One of Jimmy’s friends looked at me knowingly– “You made these didn’t you?” he said. “These have your fingerprint all over them. They look really good. How’d you make them?”
I went back and forth in my head– take credit for it, or give credit where credits due? “We had them made on a site called Minted. You should check them out sometime. You could be a DIY goddess to.” I said with a wink.
Minted makes beautiful photo cards and custom stationary and invitations for all occasions- Christmas, Thanksgiving, Baby Showers, Dinner Parties, Birthday Parties and more! Check out their site for a variety of products for all of the celebrations in your life!
