Shortly after I started Sew Creative I was approached by Today’s Parent about taking part in and writing about their Healthy Family Challenge. My family and I jumped at the opportunity– Fun ideas for how to get more active as a family, fantastic meal planning put together by a nutritionist and most importantly that kick in the butt to actually stick with it, get to the gym 3 or 4 nights a week and get healthier! The opportunity was just too good to pass up.
Today is the first day of The Healthy Family Challenge. If you want to play along head over to the Healthy Family Challenge site and sign up. You could win a $10,000 family vacation if you follow along!
Last week we received the meal plans for the next 4 weeks. Today for my Weekly Inspiration post I thought I would share 5 of the recipes that I am most looking forward to trying this week (you didn’t think I would give you any spoilers for upcoming weeks did you?)
Who doesn’t love a good muffin recipe, especially when it’s healthy? This Good Grain Basic Muffin Recipe is fabulous because you can add a variety of mix ins and have a new muffin each time you bake it. Perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Bean is such a picky eater. It drives The Hubs and I mad. I think this Healthy Family Challenge may challenge my insanity with trying to get her to eat. One thing Bean never turns down though is salmon so I’m eager to try this Hoisin-Glazed Salmon With Crunchy Apple Salad Recipe.
Breakfast is not my favorite meal, but today I loved eating this Big Batch Fruity Oatmeal Recipe. I cut up a couple of strawberries and added them in to my serving. Turtle ate it mixed with my No Peel Crockpot Applesauce and he loved it.
We never ate curry growing up but now as an adult it’s one of my favorites. It’s so comforting. I’m looking forward to trying this Creamy Chicken Curry Recipe. Confession, I may switch the whipping cream for coconut milk.
I made these Pumpkin Seed Clusters last night. They were so easy to make and they are so good. Such a great afternoon snack paired with my No Peel Crock Pot Applesauce recipe.
I hope you find some inspiration in these healthy recipes. What is your favorite healthy recipe?

Hi Glenna,
So weird. I thought that there were links for each recipe. I just added the links for the Pumpkin Seed Clusters and the salmon. Let me know if you try them and what you think. The Crunchy Apple Salad with the salmon is one of my favorites.
Best Wishes,
Crystal
