Cast Iron Skillet Dutch Baby Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Confectioners’ sugar
  • Fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Put your cast iron frying pan in the oven to preheat as well.
  • While oven is preheating combine flour, milk, eggs and nutmeg or cinnamon in a bowl. Whisk until combined.
  • When oven is done preheating place butter in cast iron frying pan and close the door for a minute giving the butter a chance to melt.
  • Take your pan out of the oven, pour batter in, swirl around the pan, then put pan in the oven. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the pancake is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and lemon juice. Serve and enjoy.
  • Optional: Top with fresh fruit or make a simple berry syrup by heating fresh or frozen berries on the stovetop

Notes

Recipe serves 2 people. You can double the recipe and cook 2 pans of Dutch Baby Pancakes at one time.
