4cupsof water for soaking + 4 cups of water for milk
Instructions
Put almonds in a bowl with 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir until salt dissolves then leave to soak for 6-8 hours (or overnight).
Drain water and rinse almonds well. At this point you will notice that the skins of the almonds easily slip off. If you want, you can remove the almond skins. I usually leave them on.
Put almonds in your blender. Add 4 cups of cold water. Blend for 60 seconds.
Pour almond mixture through a nut milk bag or a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. If using a nut milk bag, squeeze until all liquid is released. If using a sieve, press with a spoon until all liquid has released. The liquid is your almond milk!
Store almond milk in a glass jar in your fridge for 3-5 days. Shake before using.
Notes
Note: Dehydrate or bake the the almond pulp on low temperature to make almond meal!
