Equipment

  • Cat ear headband
  • Measuring tape
  • Black Felt
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun
  • White and black raglan shirt
  • White and black face paint
  • Optional: Beauty Blender style sponges, makeup brushes, black eyeliner, black lipstick

Instructions

  • Measure the ears on your cat ear headband. Cut 4 half circles out of black felt that are slightly larger than your cat ears. You can use our template from above as a guide. Our panda ears were 3.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall.
  • Use your glue gun to make a thin line of hot glue around the curved part of one of the ear pieces. Lay a second ear piece on top lining up the edges. Repeat with the second ear. You will now have two ear shaped pockets.
  • Slip each ear over the cat ear on the headband. Put a thin line of hot glue along the straight edge of each ear and then pinch so that the felt pockets are glued together just beneath the curve of the headband.
  • Now it's time for the makeup! I suggest having your "panda" put on their raglan shirt first so that they don't mess up their makeup while putting it on. Start by putting a layer of white makeup all over the face, leaving two circular areas around the eyes uncovered. I like to use a beauty blender style sponge to do this.
  • Next paint two circles around the eyes. I like to do my outline first.
  • Fill in the circles with black face paint (I used black liquid liner for the areas close to the eyes). Paint on a nose, a line going from the nose to the lips and the lips (you may want to use black lipstick for the lip area depending on what the instructions on your face paint say).
  • Style hair and pop on the panda ear headband to complete the look!
