Leprechaun Bookmark- St Patrick's Day Kids Craft

Equipment

  • Leprechaun bookmark template (Enter name and email address in the box above to have it sent straight to your inbox.)
  • Construction paper in favorite leprechaun colors (We used green, orange, pink, black and yellow)
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Sharpie

Instructions

  • Print out the leprechaun bookmark template and trace the pieces onto construction paper. Trace the head, nose and hand patterns onto whatever color you would like the skin tone of your leprechaun to be. Trace the hat, body and sleeve patterns on green paper. Trace the beard on orange, the strip and the small square on black paper and trace the medium square on yellow paper. Cut out each of the traced pieces.
    Print out the leprechaun bookmark template and trace the pieces onto construction paper. Trace the head, nose and hand patterns on light pink paper. Trace the hat, body and sleeve patterns on green paper. Trace the beard on orange, the strip and the small square on black paper and trace the medium square on yellow paper. Cut out each of the traced papers.
  • Use glue to attach the head piece to the beard piece. Attach the hand pieces on either side of the sleeve pieces.

  • Attach the head onto the round end of the body.

  • Take the arm pieces and lay them on top of the body. The arms will be in a diagonal position with the top of the arms folded around to the back of the body (or you can trim with scissors).
  • Glue the tops of the arms to the body, leaving the bottom of the arms loose so they can be used to wrap around your book pages.

  • Glue the nose onto the head. Use a sharpie to draw the eyes and mouth of the leprechaun. Optional use a colored pencil to draw freckles or other distinguishing characteristics on your leprechaun.

  • Attach the black strip near the bottom side of the hat piece. Glue the small black square inside the yellow square and then glue the squares on the middle of the black strip to complete the hat.

  • Glue the hat to the top of the leprechaun’s head.
