Hi Crafty Friends!
You’ve all heard of comfort food, but have you heard of comfort crafting? Just like comfort food, comfort crafting is something that warms you up, soothes your heart and makes you feel cozy and like you’re home– no matter where you are. For me, crochet is the ultimate comfort craft.
You can crochet anywhere with just a ball of yarn and a simple crochet hook. It’s a skill that’s easy to learn (more on that below) and even if you haven’t done it in awhile crocheting is like riding a bike– it’s so easy to pick back up with a quick refresher.
Taking a ball of yarn and transforming it into a warm granny square blanket, a warm fluffy hat, or a cute doll is a magical experience. Handmade crocheted projects make the perfect gift for friends and family members, and even yourself!
In this post I’ve collected some of my favorite crochet projects from across the internet. Whether you are new to crochet, or and experienced crocheter I’m sure you’ll find some project ideas here to inspire you!
Learning to Crochet!
People often ask me how I learned to crochet. I actually learned how to crochet in just three days using the online site Craftsy! Learning to crochet using an online class was amazing because I could pause, rewind, and fast forward over and over. I can also go back and watch the class whenever I needed a refresher on some thing like basic stitches.
Craftsy has some wonderful classes and tutorials. You can purchase individual classes and have lifetime access to them or, instead, you can choose their subscription options. You then have access to their ENTIRE catalogue of craft classes while you are a member!
If you are looking for suggestions of where to get started here are a few of my favorite suggestions. (Click on photo to go to page.)

Another online learning platform I’m crazy about is Creative Bug. I subscribe to their monthly service and have taken a ton of classes including how to make crocheted stones and a line drawing class with Lisa Congdon (which I wrote about here). Carla Scott, the Executive Editor of Vogue Knitting International, teaches their How To Crochet classes and they look great!
Whether you’ve been crocheting for years or a newbie, this is the post for you. I’ve been adding projects I want to tackle to our Creative Crochet and Knitting Board on Pinterest. I thought I’d share with you 27+ projects that are going to make you want to learn to crochet (for you newbies) or pick up the crochet hook (for those veterans among us)! Read on for some serious crochet inspiration!
27+ Projects That Will Make You Want To Learn To Crochet

I often ask myself “What can I make in crochet?”
Finding new projects to either practice or to just make takes so much time. I’ve put together a list of 27+ projects and free crochet patterns to help you get started.
They range from easy crochet patterns for the new crocheter to more complicated patterns to tackle as your crochet skills grow. You’ll find projects like an easy crochet dishcloth that makes a simple first project to pillow covers to baby blanket and more.
Remember that the sky is the limit so let your imagination go wild! Use different colors and experiment with different sizes and weights of yarn. Experimenting can produce wildly varied and incredible results, even when you use the same pattern. Trying different things is so much fun!
Enjoy!
Tell me… Do you know how to crochet? What would your first crochet project from this list be?
