On the last day of school I faced the summer with equal parts anticipation and dread. Anticipation because, HELLO! It’s summer!!! Who doesn’t love summer? Long hours of light, summer vacation, warm weather and lots of outdoor fun. Dread because my kids are home with me during the summer and though I love them to bits, it’s hard to get work done and make sure your kids enjoy the summer months. At the beginning of the school year I set an intention word for summer– Balance.
I can’t tell you how much of a blessing having that intention word has been. I’ve spent countless hours playing cards, crafting and cooking with my kids over the past two months. Last weekend on Friday afternoon my husband and I decided to book a last minute three day camping trip. Less than 24 hours after we booked it we were on the road. We were able to do it because of balance. I thank my lucky stars every single day that I have the support of my husband, family and all of you! That’s what let’s me do what I do. So “Thank you!”
I’ll admit, now that the end of summer is in sight, I’m facing fall with equal parts anticipation and dread! Anticipation because my youngest starts kindergarten this year and I can already visualize those hours of uninterrupted work time that are heading my way! Dread because it means back to a regular schedule, less time with my kids, after school activities and just a general sense of busyness.
As bummed as I am about the summer ending, I’m doing everything I can to psych my kids up for an awesome school year! My kids are obsessed with perler beads and we recently discovered the Perler App which has tons of perler bead designs. My kids are obsessed with perler beads, creating new shapes could keep them entertained for hours. For our afternoon craft recently we decided to turn our creations into DIY perler bead zipper pulls!
These DIY perler bead zipper pulls are PERFECT to hang from school back packs! It’s a fun way to let your child’s personality shine and help make their back pack one of a kind!
