My 80s Nostalgia – Why I Love This Decade
As a child of the 80s, I have so much nostalgia for that time. Give me a Walkman loaded with a New Kids on the Block cassette, a sticker book filled with puffy and scratch-and-sniff stickers, an off-the-shoulder sweatshirt, and some jelly shoes, and I’m in my happy place.
I also miss the days of waking up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons like Snorks, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, Jem and the Holograms, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, Inspector Gadget, Adventures of the Gummi Bears, and My Little Pony.
Those were the best mornings!
Oh, and can we talk about 80s slang? Some of my favorite 80s phrases that I wish would come back:
- Talk to the hand.
- Gag me with a spoon.
- Take a chill pill.
- Bodacious.
- As if!
- That’s so rad.
- No doy.
- All that and a bag of chips.
