The Hubs and I recently purchased a Glowforge and we are having so much fun experimenting with it, learning how to use it and cutting and engraving all the things.
My hubby immediately wanted to jump in there, guns a blazing and start designing all of his own cut files to make.
Since the Glowforge uses SVG files to cut, engrave and score, we definitely have the skill set to create our own designs in this house but I’m also having so much fun exploring all of the wonderful Glowforge cut files that have already been created.
Supporting Small Business
My husband and I both love to support small businesses and our favorite platform to do that on is Etsy. I’ve been an Etsy shopper since it hit the internet in 2005. I opened my first shop on Etsy a few years later, and became an Etsy affiliate a few years after that when I started Hello Creative Family.
I love being able to support artists from all around the world.
Buying cut files from Etsy lets me not only support the small business that I’m purchasing from, but it also allows me to be crafty and creative myself when I use that cut file in my own craft room!
As an SVG designer nothing brings me more joy than seeing crafters from all around the world, use my cut files. I like to think that when I buy a cut file from a small business on Etsy that they too do a little happy dance that someone out there is crafting with their cut file.

What File Types Can A Glowforge Machine Use?
Glowforge is compatible with several file formats including JPG, PNG, SVG, and PDF however the laser files that you will have most success with and be able to use for all your Glowforge Laser Cutter functions (aka cut, engrave and score) are SVG files.
For example when you upload PNG files to the Glowforge App you are limited to engraving, where with an SVG File you can cut, engrave and score.

Laser Cut Files For Tools and Jigs For Your Glowforge
Having the right tools for your new laser cutter can definitely help lead to Glowforge success. Honeycomb pins can help hold down lighter materials like leather and cardboard. Trust me, there is nothing worse than having your lighter proofgrade materials move or fly away while your machine is cutting.
