Pets bring so much love and joy into our lives, and this month’s SVG blog hop is all about celebrating them—with a special focus on animal rescue.
This month our theme is Pet SVG Files. Being an animal rescue girlie I automatically put on my pet rescue glasses and every single one of these incredible designs could be used for rescued animals… including my own!
I’m thrilled to share my free animal rescue-themed SVG file with you, along with amazing designs from other talented creators. While we celebrate pets, let’s also remember how important it is to adopt furry four legged friends and give them the loving homes they deserve.
Why Animal Rescue Is Important to Me
When I say animal rescue is personal, I mean it! My family currently has two incredible rescue dogs—Mochi and Marley—who fill our lives with so much love and joy.
I always knew that animal rescue was important to me. Growing up we adopted several cats through rescues and the humane society.
We rescued Mochi and shortly after my daughter told me she’d like to start volunteering in animal rescue. After some deep diving and research we found Small Dog Rescue BC and signed up to be a foster family.
Over the years we fostered 27 dogs for SDRBC! Each dog had a story, and each one left paw prints on our hearts.
Marley’s Story
A pivotal moments in my animal rescue journey happened the day I met Marley. At the time, I was fostering another dog named Millie and had taken her to the vet. Marley was there with the owner of SDRBC, and he came out of the exam room, ran right up to me, placed his paws on my knees, and looked deep into my eyes. I felt an instant soul connection and knew in my heart that life brought us together. But Marley already had a foster family that was planning to adopt him, so I thought it was fate teasing me.
The very next day, I received a message from SDRCBC saying that Marley’s adoption fell through because the family’s other dog was being too rough with him. They asked me, “Do you want to foster him?” I didn’t hesitate. I said yes, knowing Marley had already found his forever home with us– I just had to convince my husband he felt the same way.
Fast forward to now—my family has moved to the beautiful Island of Hawaii, where my daughter and I volunteer regularly with the Hawaii Island Humane Society. Rescue work will always be a part of my life, and I’m honored to continue working with and advocating for rescue animals.
Whenever I talk about pets, I see it as a wonderful opportunity to remind people how important animal rescue is and how life-changing adoption can be—for both the animal and the adopter.
