Recently when I was browsing the aisles of my local craft store, I stumbled upon a box of floral cabochons that were on clearance. The colors were so pretty and I loved the selection of flower shapes, so I quickly scooped the box up. As soon as I took a closer look at the embellishments I knew that I wanted to use them to make jewelry with. I love having craft supplies on hand that can be used to make quick and easy gifts, and these pretty floral cabochons fit the bill! Combined with ring blanks and E6000 gifts, these pretty flowers make a lovely handmade gift that only takes less than 5 minutes to make!
Now that I have my box of floral cabochons, I try to always have some ring blanks and earring blanks on hand so that I have everything at my fingertips to make a pretty handmade gift. Make one in each color of cabochon for yourself and have a pretty fashion accessory to match any outfit!
Read on for my easy tutorial for how to make a 5 minute DIY flower ring using floral cabochons.
5 Minute DIY Flower Ring Using Floral Cabochons
Materials:
-Floral Cabochons in your favorite color (Find them here)
-E6000 Glue (I love buying the small tubes like this for easy squeezing and making sure the glue doesn’t dry out!)
-Ring Blanks (You’ll find lots of options here)
-Metal file or something sharp for roughing up your surface (Like these)
-Optional: Alcohol
Directions:
Step 1: Using a metal file or other sharp tool, rough up the back of your floral cabochon and the surface of the ring blank where you’ll be gluing your flower. Wipe away any dust left behind. If you would like to use alcohol to clean the back of the flower and the ring blank you can.
Step 2: Put a small dot of glue, the size of a small pea in the center of the ring blank where you’ll be attaching your flower.
Step 3: Place your floral cabochon on top of the glue. Press firmly in place, removing any glue that might squeeze out with a dry cloth.
Leave to dry. The glue will be dry within a few minutes, but for best results don’t wear or move it around too much for 24 hours so that the glue has time to cure.
That’s it! Viola! You have a beautiful ring that was simple to make and will be a gorgeous handmade gift! Make them in all of your friend’s favorite colors for a thoughtful gift idea!
These would also make fabulous wedding shower or birthday party favors!
