Why I’m Wild About Flowers (And Getting My Hands Dirty!)
My love of gardening started when my daughter was just a baby. We had a little plot in our community garden, and my husband and I loved growing fruits and veggies we could use in our meals.
There’s just something extra satisfying about eating a salad made with greens you grew yourself, right?
One of my favorite parts of those garden days was bringing our daughter along. She’d explore the garden paths, check out the colorful blooms, and soak up all the smells and sights from the plots around us. It was like a tiny jungle adventure in the middle of the city.
Back when we lived in Vancouver, gardening was mostly a spring and summer activity. But now that we live in Hawaii, we get to grow things all year long! We’ve got veggies, fruit trees, and of course, flowers—because every good garden needs blooms for the bees and butterflies.
And yes… I’m totally one of those gardeners. No gloves. Just hands in the dirt, sunshine on my face, and wild hair don’t care.
Spending time in the garden and soaking up the magic of nature is one of my favorite things about living here. It’s a big part of what inspired my “Stay Wild” SVG design—a reminder to stay curious, stay grounded, and let your creativity grow wild, just like the flowers.
