From the ER to Eight Days in the Hospital
I want to tell you a story.
When I was in my twenties, I was brought to the emergency room after unexpected complications from a car accident. What started as a trip to the hospital turned into emergency exploratory surgery and eight days as an inpatient.
I was young, and I had never had a health scare like that as an adult. Nothing in my life had prepared me for it.
My fiancé (now my husband Rob) brought me in. I remember looking at his face in those early moments and seeing something I had never seen on him before.
Pure fear.
We were both terrified.
But the nurses? The nurses were steady. They were kind. They were calm when we were not. They answered questions at 2am without making me feel like a burden. They checked on me when they didn’t have to. They made eight of the scariest days of my life feel manageable, and they did it while dealing with more literal and figurative challenges in a single shift than most people face in a week, heck in a year!
And I have never forgotten them.
So when our SVG blog hop theme was announced as public servants, I did not have to think twice about what I was going to design.
Introducing the Floral Nurse SVG
Simply put, this design is my love letter to nurses everywhere.
