Handmade gifts are pretty much my favorite thing ever. The gifts that I give usually end up being a bit of a mixed bag– some I make myself, some I buy from a handmade artist and some I buy from the store. Having been an entrepreneur since I was 24 years old, I know how important it is to support small businesses.
Here’s a few reasons I think it’s so important to support small/handmade businesses:
-Every time you make a purchase from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance.
-You are supporting not only a real person and their family, but also that person’s creative journey.
-A whole lot of love is poured into handmade items, and I like to think that love is passed along to the person who receives it.
-When you shop handmade you are encouraging more creativity to be brought into the world– and that’s such a good thing!
-The item you purchase is one of a kind and unique. The chances of the recipient receiving duplicates of the item are slim to none.
-It gives you great karma. 🙂
