This mama loves Disneyland. I truly believe it’s the most magical place on earth and I turn into a big kid every time I go there. We have been lucky enough to take our kids there twice– Once when Bean was 3 and I was pregnant with Turtle and again this past summer when the kids were 5 and 9. I’m not going to lie, Disneyland is expensive, especially with the low Canadian dollar, so when we go to Disneyland it’s a splurge for us. As much as I would love to give my kids a “no expense spared” trip to Disneyland, we definitely lean more towards the “budget conscious” Disneyland trip.

We bring our stroller with us to Disneyland and one of the first things we do when we get to the hotel is Uber to the nearest grocery store and pick up groceries for the week. We eat breakfast in our room at the hotel before we leave, and pack water, snacks and lunch in a cooler that we put in the stroller. Once we get to the park we find a nice, shady spot for our stroller and stop back at it whenever we need something to eat or drink. We splurge by eating dinner at the park and a picking up a special snack or two here and there throughout the day.

Another way we try to save some money is by buying some of our “souvenir” type items before we go. The Hubs was able to find the lanyards for our Disney trading pins on clearance at a video game store before we left and we also DIY’d our own Disney Autograph Books.

DIYing the books before we left gave the kids the chance to make their autograph books 100% their own. We picked up the notebooks at the dollar store and they painted the covers in their favorite colors. I let the kids pick their favorite Disney characters and we used my Cricut Explore to cut out vinyl decals for the cover of the book. You could also use Disney stickers from the dollar store to decorate with. We brought a sharpie for each kid and clipped it to their lanyards for easy signing access. I can’t tell you how many Disney cast members commented on how cute the autograph books were and asked questions about them!

While the kids were getting autographs from each character  I snapped photos left, right and center on my iphone. I made sure to take lots of fun candid photos in addition to the more traditional posed photos.

Once we got home I sorted through the photos on my phone, picked out my favorites and printed them on my Polaroid Zip Mobile Printer. Have you heard of the Polaroid Zip Mobile Printer? It is one of my favorite things! I’ve been wanting one for a long time and was so happy to have one for this project. The Polaroid Zip Mobile Printer prints on ZINK paper which means that it uses no ink! It’s made of a material that has colorful die crystals embedded inside that appear like magic on the paper when heat is applied inside the printer!

It’s tiny so you can take it on the go with you. There is a Polaroid Zip app for smart phones so all you have to do is turn on the printer, connect the printer to your phone using bluetooth, select the photo you want it to print and click print!

The app also has fun filters, stickers, border and text options so you can completely customize each image. There is also a collage option that allows you to make collages with your images like the one I made of Mochi playing with his ball below.

My very favorite thing about the Polaroid Zip printer has to be the backing of the photos! Friends… you can either use the photo just like you would a regular photo OR you can peel of the back layer to leave behind a sticker back so you can stick the photo anywhere! The planner addict in me is so in love with this feature. The photos that the Polaroid Zip Printer prints are 2 inches by 3 inches which are the perfect size to put in the boxes in my Happy Planner!

They are also the perfect size for this DIY Disney Autograph Book. Not too big, not too small, the perfect size so that you can put one or two stickers on each page next to the signatures of your favorite Disney characters without covering the signature!
