Hey Crafty Friends! Happy July!!! July is one of my favorite months of the year. I love the freedom of summer, spending extra time with my kids, the warm weather and… it’s also my birthday month which makes it a little bit extra special.
Today is the first Tuesday of the month and that means it’s #TotallyFreeSVG Tuesday! Yay! This month our theme is “baby”! 15 of us created baby svg files– some are perfect for making adorable onesies with and others are fabulous for the mama to be!
The Hubs and I have two kids. I grew up as the oldest of two children, and my husband grew up as the middle of three children. Growing up I always thought I’d have two kids and The Hubs thought he would want three.
After having our son though our feelings flip flopped! I had this feeling of “I’m just not done yet” and The Hubs thought “We have a girl and a boy, it’s the perfect little family. We are done!”
I had a hard time getting pregnant with our son. My kids have almost 4 years between them and I had a miscarriage during that time. As much as I wanted to have a third baby, the thought of trying to get pregnant again quite frankly felt overwhelming. First I would have to convince The Hubs that it was the right thing for our family, and that would mean opening my heart to the possibility of “what if my body can’t do this again?”
I whiffle waffled over having another baby for 7 years. I always said that it would have to happen by the time I was 40 if it was going to happen. This weekend I turn 41 and in my heart I finally know that my baby making days are over.
My heart has come around to not having a third child and I am 100% ok with this decision. I love our family, I love the place where we are and how independent my kids are, I love the freedom that I have gotten back. The thought of changing diapers and wrangling toddlers is not appealing AT ALL to me anymore… but I’ll admit whenever I see a friend say that they are pregnant with their third (or fourth, fifth or sixth), I get a little twinge in my heart and a sense of “what if?”
With my history of loss, and our decision to not have another baby finally being firmly cemented in my head, this collection has me feeling all the feels.
I decided to keep my design light and silly, but there are a few designs in this collection that completely pulled at my heart strings and had me feeling a bit teary eyed (thanks a lot Heidi, Brooke and Lindsay!!!)
This is all way more than I originally intended to share in this blog post, but sometimes all the things just spill out of you. So without further ado, here is my design for this collection!
My son constantly did (and still does) have crumbs and food all over his mouth, so this crummy faced monster reminds me of him!
I had so much fun creating this design, that I decided to create an entire collection of adorable little monsters!
All of the elements of these designs can be mixed and matched to create whatever monster family member combination you would like!

Oh my goodness, your pregnancy story could be my story. I had a hard time getting pregnant with my daughter (now 14) and then my son (now 4) there’s just about a 2 week difference in birthdays. I also had a miscarriage between them. I also wanted a third but I was already 40 when I had my son and was experiencing signs of menopause, so that took care of that. I’m thankful that you were able to have your second child.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Lara. <3 I'm so thankful that you were able to have your second child too. Thank you so much for visiting and sharing.
Best Wishes,
Crystal
