Hi Crafty Friends! Another new school year is upon us (we go back in a week and a half) and I am feeling all the feels for my teacher friends. I remember when Covid started hearing the experts saying that we had 18 months ahead of us until things returned to normal. Everyone I talked to was in disbelief when I told them that. They all thought that we were looking at a month or two at the most. Nope!

Covid is tough on all of us, but I especially feel for my teacher friends. Teaching at the best of times is a hard job. Our teachers are shaping and creating the leaders of tomorrow. Along with a child’s parents/guardian, teachers are the adults who spend the most time and can potentially have the biggest impact on our children. That’s a pretty powerful role to play in a child’s life on the best of days– but during a pandemic tackling that role I image could feel insurmountable.

I have such huge respect, affection and appreciation for my children’s teachers. I believe in showing them how appreciative I am of all they do. The biggest way I do that is by raising my children to be polite, courteous and helpful. The second way is by treating them every once in awhile. Which brings me to today’s project!

DIY Sweet Treat Teacher Gift

Sweet handmade teacher gift. Mason jar with cookies with an pretty colorful gift tag that says Looking Forward To A Sweet School Year.

Today I’m going to be showing you how to make these super cute, Sweet Treat Teacher Gifts. They are SO CUTE! We filled ours with Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies, but you could just as easily fill them with any sweet treat that your child’s teacher loves– Smarties, Twix, Oreos, sour gummies, etc.

You can also switch up what kind of container the treats are in. You could use a paper bag, a dessert box with a see through window, a pretty cellophane bag, a paper bag that your child decorates… the sky is the limit!

I’m giving you the free printable for the gift tag in two different options. One says “Looking Forward To A Sweet School Year” and makes a great beginning of the school year gift. The other says “Thank You For A Sweet School Year” and is perfect for the end of the school year, teacher appreciation day, Christmas, or anytime your teacher needs a sweet little pick me up.

You can cut the gift tags by hand with scissors, or if you are making a bunch of them use the Print Then Cut function on your Cricut!
