Hi Crafty Friends! How are we half way through September already?!?! This year my kids had two major milestones. My sweet little Bean, isn’t so little anymore! She started high school earlier this month and let me tell you I was not ready for it AT ALL!

Hello Creative Family Kids

My itty bitty baby Turtle also isn’t so little anymore. He moved from primary to intermediate at his elementary school.

I keep on telling my friends that I wish that there was a pause button that I could press, because time is going way, way too fast!

You might remember that last year we dipped our toes into the world of homeschooling with our kids. Bean thrived being homeschooled. She pushed herself so hard academically, was able to work beyond her grade level in her favorite subjects and had such a great year.

Turtle had a good year, but definitely struggled more than his sister when it came to schooling at home. He really missed his school friends and though he was able to easily complete all his work he really didn’t enjoy it and was so happy when school was over each day.

Near the end of the school year, Bean applied and interviewed to be a part of an accelerated leadership program in high school. She was accepted into the program and made the decision to go back to public school this year. This made it easy for us to make the decision to have Turtle return to public school as well.

Free Homeschool Printables

I’ll be honest, there are definitely parts of homeschooling that I miss. I love having my babies at home with me, I enjoyed the creativity of planning out our days and I loved creating homeschool content for my kids that I also could share with you. So… I have made the decision to keep bringing you content that can be used for homeschooling, even if we aren’t homeschooling ourselves! I am a firm believer that homeschooling should be fun, and that’s why I think these printables aren’t only great for homeschooling families but they are also just really fun activity sheets that any child can do in their free time!

One of the things that Turtle struggled with the most last year was his penmanship. He is such a creative boy and loves creating stories, but he hated the act of putting pencil to paper. He is a fabulous reader, he can spell words like nobodies business but when it came time to write the words on paper it was a struggle.

I think the act of pencil to paper doesn’t come naturally to him and he was really having to think about each and every letter that he was writing. Stories and thoughts were coming to his head quicker than he could write them down and it was frustrating for him.

The only real advice that I have for this kind of challenge is practice, practice practice, so today I’m bringing to you ABC’s of Fall Free Letter Printing Practice Sheets.

These sheets are super cute, colorful and perfect for the autumn months. They have practice for both uppercase and lowercase letters as well as festive fall images that kids can color in.

I often suggest laminating my printables so that they can be used over and over and over again. If your child is just learning how to write their letters then laminating these sheets might be a really good idea. I’ll be honest though, for my son there was something about the feeling of the pencil on the paper so I just had him do these types of sheets directly on the paper.
