If you have been around Hello Creative Family for a while, you probably know two things about me. One, I am a total bookworm and two, I love a good touch of magic in my everyday life.

When the theme “witches” came up for this month’s SVG hop, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. I wanted to create a design that blends my love for reading with my adoration for all things spooky season.

Today I am sharing my brand new Salem Book Club design along with 10 more free witch SVG cut files from some of my favorite SVG designers. Whether you are crafting for fall, Halloween, your book club, or just because, you are going to love this cozy and magical collection.

Top-down view of a stack of three dark brown leather-bound books resembling witch’s spell books, placed on a soft white faux fur background. Surrounding the books are polished crystals in shades of amethyst, clear quartz, citrine, green aventurine, and lavender, along with a single black rose with a green stem and leaves, creating a spooky and magical aesthetic.

I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. As a child, my summer days consisted of swim lessons in the morning, lunch and chores when I got home, and then afternoons spent in the shade on our deck devouring stacks of books.

Grocery shopping days were my favorite because we always made a stop at the Bellingham Public Library or the Salvation Army where children’s books were just ten cents each.

My favorite Salvation Army finds were books by Ruth Chew (The Wednesday Witch, The Trouble With Magic, Second Hand Magic) and Mr. Pudgins, a story about a babysitter whose visits always brought something magical. My favorite part was when the faucets ran soda pop instead of water.

Looking back, that was the start of my love for magical realism. As a teen, I discovered Like Water for Chocolate. As a new adult, I read The Time Traveller’s Wife over and over. In my early motherhood days, I recommended The Night Circus to everyone I met. Most recently, I fell in love with The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina.

I adore the idea of magic hiding in everyday life. When the witch theme came up for this SVG hop, I knew I wanted to combine the idea of witches with my passion for books. The result is my Salem Book Club SVG.

This Salem Book Club design features a stack of books topped with a witch hat, surrounded by flowers, mushrooms, crystals, and stars. It is the perfect vibe for fall reading sessions or book club nights.

Project ideas for the Salem Book Club SVG include:

  • Cozy fall sweatshirts or hoodies
  • Tote bags for library hauls or book club nights
  • Mugs for sipping tea or coffee while reading
  • Art prints or framed wall decor for your reading nook

Whether you cut it from heat transfer vinyl for apparel or permanent vinyl for mugs and home decor, this design will add a witchy, bookish charm to any project.

I love helping my community gain their Cricut confidence! Here are some tips to help you with your Cricut projects!

  • Choose the right vinyl. Use HTV for fabric projects like shirts and tote bags, and adhesive vinyl for mugs, glassware, or home decor. Check out my Beginners Guide To Using Vinyl here!
  • Add sparkle. Glitter, holographic and glow in the dark HTV adds an extra magical touch to witch-themed designs.
  • Measure twice, cut once! Measure the space that you want to fill on your mug, tote bag, shirt or other Cricut project and size your SVG to fit the blank.
  • Test cut first. This is especially important if you are using a new material you’ve never cut with your Cricut cutting machine before to find your correct pressure settings!
