Hi Crafty Friends! It’s the first Tuesday of the month and you know what that means! It’s time for a brand new #TotallyFreeSVG collection…. But here’s the thing… As you are reading this I am on vacation and I wrote this post before all the gals in the group had their designs created so today we’re doing things a little bit differently. I’m going to share with you my free SVG which you can download, and then you can pop back on over in after August 10th to see what everyone else made! Sound good?
This month our theme is “Kitchens” which I think is super fun. Some of you may not know this about me, but I went to school to be a Culinary Nutrition Expert and pre-covid I taught cooking classes in my local community. We also did a huge kitchen remodel on our kitchen two summers ago, so the kitchen is pretty much my happy place. (Read more about our kitchen remodel here.)
Happiness Is Homemade
Some of you may have noticed our tagline at the top of the page that says Handmade. Homemade. Heartmade. This is a tagline that my brilliant friend Karen came up with. We were running through tagline ideas together and we were discussing how handmade and homemade items come straight from the heart and she said “What about Handmade. Homemade. Heartmade? No that’s not a word. I guess that’s silly.” I knew from the second the words left her mouth though that it was perfect. Because homemade items are made from the heart. When you give someone you love something you have made with your own two hands you are passing along a little piece of your heart, and a whole lot of happiness.
This philosophy is something that I learned from my mother. She was constantly in the kitchen creating delicious meals and sweet treats that soothed our souls. I had her in mind when I created today’s Happiness Is Homemade SVG.
I also, obviously had my good friend Heidi from Happiness Is Homemade in mind when creating this design. Funny story– Heidi and I both rebranded our sites around the same time a number of years back. When exploring names she considered Hello Creative Family and I considered Happiness Is Homemade! This was before we knew each other. It’s been so much fun to get to know Heidi more, create SVGs with her each month and witness all the beauty, creativity and happiness that she brings into this world!
This design is so adorable on a tea towel or mug but I would also 100% wear it on a tshirt or hoodie!
