Show of hands– who has a goal in mind for 2020 already? I don’t know if it’s that we are about to enter a new decade, or if it’s just that I have super goal oriented friends, but it seems like everyone that I’m talking to in the past few weeks has some huge goals in mind for 2020! The goals I’ve heard from range from business goals, to health goals, to goals to travel more and practice self care!
Whatever your goal is, one thing I have found to be true is that if you write your goal down, put your goal out there into the universe and set obtainable, step by step mini-goals that you are much more likely to achieve them than by simply having a goal in mind.
I love having different clipboards to help me stay organized– I have a health clipboard with workout plans from a personal trainer, and multiple business clipboards that help me keep different aspects of my business from the blog, to my Etsy store, to my book writing all organized.
I always have a to do list and/or goals attached to each clipboard and do my best to get all the things done!
The only downside about clipboards is that they are kind of blah and boring, so I decided to give my clipboard a bit of bling! A clipboard from the dollar store makes a fabulous blank canvas!
Today’s project is for anyone who is trying to get more organized in 2020 and wants a bit of encouragement to “GET IT DONE!” I’m showing you how to pretty up your clipboard a bit with some clipboard bling and giving you a free cut file! DIY Get It Done Clipboard Decal With Free Cut File
Materials:
–Get It Done Clipboard Cut File
–Clipboard
–Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore
–Cricut Vinyl in two of your favorite colors (I used pink and gold glitter)
Directions:
Step 1: Log into Cricut Design Space and upload the Get It Done Clipboard cut file to Design Space.
Step 2: Measure the width of your clipboard and size your design accordingly.
Step 3: Click Make It. Set your cutting material to the type of vinyl you are using. Lay vinyl on your cutting mat with the color side facing up. Load your cutting mat into your Cricut using the arrow on the right hand side of your Cricut. Once your mat is loaded, look for the Cricut C to start flashing, press the button and your machine will start cutting. When your machine finishes cutting press the arrow again and your mat will unload. Repeat this step with the second piece of your design.
Step 4: Weed your vinyl, removing the excess vinyl around your design leaving just the designs behind on the white paper backing.
Step 5: Cut a piece of transfer tape a tiny bit bigger than your large color blog piece design. Peel the tape off of the backing of the transfer tape and lay it on top of your design. Use your scraper tool or brayer to rub over the top of the transfer tape, pushing the tape against the vinyl. Peel the transfer tape up, lifting your vinyl design away from the paper backing.
Step 6: Carefully position and then lay the transfer tape onto your clipboard. Run your scraper over the transfer tape pushing the vinyl onto the clipboard. Carefully peel away the transfer tape leaving the design behind on your clipboard. If the vinyl starts to lift, use your scraper to push it down then peel the transfer tape away again. Repeat steps 5 and 6 with the Get It Done words.
Voila! You have a pretty, blinged out clipboard!
