Hi Crafty Friends!

I come from a family of people who LOVE to eat. When we get together there is always a ton of planning over what we’ll be having for each meal, along with appetizers, snacks and dessert. We love our food.

We also love giving (and receiving) food as gifts! My mom prepares and freezes baked goods for months in the lead up to Christmas, and neighbors, friends and family all eagerly anticipate receiving a festive tin of her baking during the holidays.

Over the years my family and I have prepared and given as gifts everything from smoked salmon, to Chinese dumplings, to homemade spice blends, to jam as gifts.

Another food gift we look forward to is Chex Mix!

Family Chex Mix Recipes

I don’t know if your family is like mine, but we are VERY competitive with our Chex Mix. My mom makes a savoury Chex mix that is loaded with peanuts, almonds, cashews, brazil nuts, bagel chips and mini pretzel twists.

Then there’s my uncle who makes an “everything but the kitchen sink” version with cheerios, cheetos, pretzels and doritos.

My aunt makes a sweet version that has cinnamon and craisins, macadamia nuts, coconut and white chocolate chip. She finishes it off by shaking it in a plastic bag with some powdered sugar.

I personally have a savoury Christmas crack chex mix recipe that is LOADED with cashews (because that’s the only nut I really like in my Chex Mix) along with a Sweet Tooth Chex Recipe (the one I’m sharing today).

For those who love a mix of sweet and salty, I also have a peanut butter and chocolate cereal mix recipe that I shared last year. You can find it here.
